Dura History：

1995

Shanghai Meter Works and Japan Shimada jointly invested and founded Shanghai Sanfeng-Shimada Co., Ltd.The Joint Venture mainly produced gas detectors including Carbon Monoxide alarm and bimetallic thermostat.

1999

Atwood US acquired all Japanese shares and turned the company into a Sino-American Joint Venture named Shanghai Sanfeng Atwood Electric Co., Ltd.It produced and sold domestically various electronic apparatus and meters including oscillograph recorder, gas alarms and medical devices and exported gas detectors, bimetallic thermostat, electrodes and so on.

2002

Atwood increased its investment and became the majority shareholder.The JV was renamed Shanghai Atwood Electric Co., Ltd.More products were exported year on year.

2004

Atwood’s parent Dura Automotive Systems Plc. decided to have Atwood further increase its ownership in the JV with a view to expanding its auto business in China.The company was renamed to Shanghai Dura Vehicle Components Co., Ltd and started its first auto project.
